I did a lesson on this power point presentation using a screen and a projector to observe how using technology in the classroom would impact my students. I have a grade two classroom with sixteen students. All of the students in my class struggle with reading, writing and language development. During the first viewing, I did not turn the volume on because I wanted the students to concentrate on the words. During the second viewing the students listened to their narrations. Some of the students were very aware and were shy when they heard their voice but as we completed the viewing the students were extremely proud of their pictures and their voices. We went on to complete journal stories of the power point presentation and was extremely proud of what the students wrote about the presentation. In the future I would like to use the same power point in the classroom using repetitive language and have the students dictate what we should write on the slides. I feel that the students would be interested in reading if the story is about themselves and their peers.

I would like to try using the sight words to improve reading. feel that the student self esteem and motivation would improve with support, consistency and technology.

I like to run.I like to walk.I like to eat.

I can run.I and walk.I can eat.

I like running. I like walking. I like eating.

Jacklyn can run. Jacklyn can walk. Jacklyn can eat.

I feel that the classroom presentations, cultural camp out and Aboriginal perspectives, with the incorporation of technology will help improve learning outcomes for First Nations and Metis people.
